Run Windows XP restore from Command Prompt

Many times you fall into a situation when you need to run restore Windows XP to bring it to previous running state.

You can follow below steps to run the restore command from command line:

  • Restart computer and press [F8] during startup.
  • On Windows Advanced Options Menu, select the Safe Mode with a Command Prompt option.
  • Select the Windows XP operating system.
  • Log on to your computer with Administrator Account.
  • Type the following command at a command prompt: C:\windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe
