Event after tens of years of Windows OS development it seems Microsoft hasn't looked into improving the interface for managing “Environment Variables”. It is still ( Windows 7 ) very similar to the interface available in Windows 98.
AndyHoffmann has developed a nice tool named PathEditor which you can use to manage Environment Variables easily. This tool provides a grid interface to edit different path to be set into Environment Variable;
