Here are some commands which you can use to control shutdown and restart of system through command line. This can be very handy if your system has got struck or become unstable.
shutdown –s to shutdown the computer
shutdown –r to shutdown and restart the computer
shutdown –l to log off from the computer
shutdown –f forcibly closes all the applications and shutdown the computer
shutdown –a You can use this command to abort the system shutdown If it is already in progress.
To run above command just go go start ---> run --->type cmd and press enter key. You can find the command prompt window similar to above in picture. Here you can execute above mentioned commands.
